This new social group for men met for the first time on Tuesday 30th August 2022 at the Magic Garden in Nottingham. The venue is a beautiful townhouse with old panelled rooms and a big garden area, both of them very interestingly decorated.
Fourteen or so men came to the first meeting, and enjoyed drinks and conversation. Most people didn’t know more than one or two others, so we were all in the position of meeting new people and finding out about each other. The whole event was very relaxed and very friendly. People moved about the room and talked to most people over the course of the evening.
Towards the end of our time together, before people left, we had a larger conversation for a short while. Everyone said that they had enjoyed the event and were keen to meet again. It was agreed that in future we might try out different venues, but that for the next meeting (in about a month) we would go back to the Magic Garden. Tuesday night was fairly quiet and it was easy to find private space for a group of us to be together. Other ideas discussed included having a daytime meeting (perhaps at a weekend), a film night, a picnic, and other social activities.
The age band 0f 30’s to 50’s is not exclusive – but we know there is nothing for men in mid-life, so this is aimed at them. But if you would like a low-stress, friendly evening out with other gay men, then please do come and try out this group. Look out for notice of upcoming meetings!!
